Have you ever gone to an “All You Can Eat” buffet and noticed there are plenty of options to choose from? Maybe more options than you expected? Did you know you can get that same experience when you go to an auto auction?
Although Big Valley Auto Auction doesn’t serve all you can eat food, we serve a variety of vehicles and we’ve been doing so since 2008. In those years, we’ve sold numerous types of vehicles in different conditions and from different areas.
If you’ve never sold at an auto auction before, don’t worry. We’re going to dive into the different types of vehicles you can auction off here at a Big Valley Auto Auction, so you’ll feel armed with everything you need to have a successful sale day.
When people think of an auto auction, a majority will think of regular cars. However, our dealers are able to bring in much more than that.
Big Valley Auto Auction runs your typical vehicles, such as cars, trucks, and SUVs. (These are vehicles that you’ll usually find on the road or highway.) But if you’re too cool for a normal vehicle, we got you covered, because we also run motorcycles.
Big Valley Auto Auction runs off-road vehicles too. We run go-karts, golf carts, and trailers, in case you need something to get you through the great outdoors. You’ll also be surprised to find out that we run boats, as well. That’s right, Big Valley Auto Auction doesn’t stop at land. We take to the sea, too.
Although we run a variety of vehicles, not every type of vehicle is guaranteed to sell. Things like a vehicle's condition, supply and demand, and market value play big roles in your vehicle's chances of selling.
A vehicle in bad condition is less likely to sell than one in good condition. However, that’s not always the case. Some buyers don’t care about the condition, as long as they get it at a reasonable price and can fix it up themselves. But the condition doesn’t really matter if the used car market isn’t hot. If used cars are not in high demand, the chances of selling are lower than you’d hope.
Keep in mind that not all auto auctions are the same. Some auto auctions specifically run classic vehicles, not newer than 1975, whereas others only run recent models. It’s always best to do some research beforehand to make sure that your vehicle qualifies.
Another factor to consider when browsing inventory is whether the auto auction is dealer-only or public. A dealer-only auto auction runs vehicles strictly from registered dealers, which consist of repos and dealer trade-ins. If you’re a dealership owner, this type of auto auction is more likely to have what you’re looking for.
On the other hand, public auto auctions run vehicles from both registered dealers and non-registered individuals from the public. Inventory from those auto auctions would feature a more diverse choice of vehicles. This is best for someone who wants to buy a vehicle for personal use or your own collection.
Just like all-you-can-eat buffets, auto auctions have a variety of vehicles available. However, similar to choosing the type of food you’re in the mood for, the type of vehicles you’re looking for depends on the auto auction you choose.
Whether you’re new to auto auctions, or you’re an experienced dealer, knowing which type of vehicles run at an auto auction will help you enter your next auto auction prepared.
